Privacy Policy
Effective: September 23, 2026 · Last updated: September 23, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Funeral Workforce collects, uses, shares, and protects information when you use funeralworkforce.com and the related candidate, employer, and administrative services (the “Service”).
1. Information we collect
Account and contact information
When you create or manage an account, we may collect your name, email address, phone number, account role, organization name, and account settings. Passwords are handled by our authentication provider and are not available to Funeral Workforce in readable form.
Candidate information
Candidates may provide professional profile information such as location, career summary, experience, desired roles, employment preferences, skills, relocation or remote-work preferences, credentials, licenses, certifications, education, jurisdiction, credential numbers, expiration dates, résumés or other application documents, cover notes, and job applications.
Employer and job information
Employers may provide organization information, business location, website information, organization membership details, job postings, compensation information, role requirements, credential requirements, and hiring-related records.
Hiring activity and communications
We store information needed to operate the hiring workflow, including application status, messages exchanged through the Service, interview dates and details, interview history, hiring decisions, unread-message state, and notification preferences.
Technical and security information
Our Service and infrastructure providers may automatically process technical information such as IP address, browser or device information, request timestamps, session and authentication data, security events, and server logs. We use essential cookies and similar session mechanisms to keep users signed in and protect accounts.
2. How we use information
We use information to:
- create and secure user accounts;
- provide candidate profiles, job listings, applications, messaging, interview scheduling, and hiring workflows;
- show appropriate information to candidates and employers based on their role and actions;
- verify employers or professional credentials when verification features are used;
- send account, security, application, message, and interview notifications according to the applicable settings;
- provide customer support and diagnose access or technical issues;
- prevent fraud, abuse, unauthorized access, and misuse of the Service;
- maintain, troubleshoot, and improve the Service; and
- comply with legal obligations and protect the rights and safety of users and Funeral Workforce.
3. When information is shared
Between marketplace participants
Information is shared when necessary for the marketplace to work. For example, employers can view information a candidate chooses to publish or submits with an application, and candidates can view employer and job information. Messages, application records, and interview details are visible to the relevant participants and authorized administrators as needed to operate and support the Service.
Service providers
We use service providers to operate the Service. These currently include Supabase for authentication, database, and private file storage; Railway for application hosting; and Postmark for transactional email delivery. These providers process information on our behalf to provide their services.
Legal, safety, and business reasons
We may disclose information when reasonably necessary to comply with law or legal process, investigate fraud or security incidents, protect users or the public, enforce our Terms of Service, or respond to a business reorganization, financing, acquisition, or transfer of the Service.
No sale of personal information. Funeral Workforce does not currently sell personal information or use personal information for third-party targeted advertising.
4. Cookies and similar technologies
Funeral Workforce currently uses essential authentication and session technologies needed to sign users in, maintain secure sessions, and protect the Service. We do not currently use advertising cookies. If our use of cookies materially changes, we will update this Policy and provide any notice or choices required by law.
5. Data retention
We retain information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the Service, maintain account and hiring records, meet legal or security obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements. Users can delete their account through Account Settings. Candidate account deletion is designed to remove the account, applications, and private documents associated with that account. Some employer-side hiring history may be retained where other users’ records depend on it, and limited records may remain in security logs, audit records, or backups for a reasonable period.
6. Your choices and controls
Depending on the feature and your account type, you can update account details, change your email or password, manage hiring-notification preferences, edit or hide candidate profile information, and delete your account through the Service. If applicable law gives you additional access, correction, deletion, portability, restriction, or objection rights, you may request to exercise those rights.
For privacy requests or questions, contact Funeral Workforce using the business email address from which you receive Funeral Workforce account or support communications, or any support contact we publish on the Service. We may need to verify your identity before fulfilling a request.
7. Security
We use administrative and technical safeguards intended to protect information, including authenticated access, role-based controls, database row-level security, private document storage, limited-duration document links, and audit logging for sensitive administrative support actions. No online service can guarantee absolute security, so users should also protect their passwords and devices.
8. Children
The Service is intended for people using it for employment or hiring purposes and is not directed to children. If you are not legally permitted to create an account on your own where you live, use the Service only with any consent or supervision required by applicable law.
9. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy as the Service changes. We will update the “Last updated” date and provide additional notice when required by law or when a change is material.
10. Contact
Questions about this Privacy Policy can be sent through the Funeral Workforce business contact used in your account or support communications. As the Service grows, we may publish additional privacy-contact information here.
